ABOUT
Thank you for your interest in Mano de Barro!
What does “Mano de Barro” mean? Literally, “Hand of Mud,” or “Mud Hand.”
My name is Harold Pierce. Mano de Barro is my creation, vocation, and passion.
MdB is a Natural Plastering company based in Javea, Spain and serving the whole Marina Alta, Costa Blanca region of Spain (and beyond!) with clay, lime and Tadelakt plasters as well as Natural Building methods and educational opportunities.
I have been working in the construction trades for over 20 years - carpentry, electrical, a bit of everything. I have found my home in the infinite world of natural, ecological plasters.
I've traveled extensively in the United States, Costa Rica, Europe and Turkey working and learning about the myriad ways of combining and applying natural earth products (earth, lime, sands, fibers) to create long-lasting, beautiful, ecological and entirely unique wall finishes. I am extremely proud and excited to be able to offer these timeless finishes to you.
I am extremely proud and excited to be able to offer these timeless finishes to you.
For four years I worked in an ecological home building store, advising clients on improving the indoor air quality of their home, and helping them to select the ecological building materials perfect for their unique home and style.
I genuinely enjoy these conversations and getting to know who my clients are, what brings them joy, and how they are committing to the health of their home and of the planet.
I also hold a Permaculture Design Certificate and can speak knowledgeably on a wide range of topics having to do with ecological design and systems design. (I’m a bit of a nerd for it.)
I'm eager to hear what's brought you here, what you're dreaming of, and how we can come together to Bring the Earth Inside your home.
We contracted Harold Pierce to plaster our whole kitchen and a bedroom with lime and we are extremely happy. Not just for the level of professionalism, technique, and knowledge of his materials, but also on the level of who he is as a person. Completely recommend.
